CURRENT PROJECTS

Gascoigne West, Phase One, Barking

Proplant Scaffolding Ltd have been employed to provide a full perimeter access scaffold around 201 new residential homes as part of phase one of a brand new estate on Abbey Road, Barking. The scaffold needs to provide full access to all floor levels on each of the four blocks to allow the construction of the new buildings. Proplant have designed the scaffold using system scaffold (Cuplok) to ensure we reduce the number of materials that can be dropped and ensure works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards. By using system scaffold, this greatly reduces the number of fittings used on a project. We are also installing Combi Safe protection nets to ensure in the unfortunate event that something gets dropped, it will only go as far as the nets which will and protect other trades from accidental injury working below. The nets are raised progressively alongside the erection of the scaffold to ensure they are never more than 9m below the proceeding works. Hoist gantries and scaffold loading bays are erected to each block to ensure all other trades can get their materials to each floor. This Job is currently ongoing, please check back here for updates.

Keybridge House, Vauxhall

Keybridge House, Vauxhall is an ambitious development ranging from studio flats, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments that is destined to be a new standout landmark in London’s most exciting new neighbourhood. It compromises of 460 new homes set within one acre of open space.   Now in its final phase of a four year package, this project has consisted of a full perimeter façade scaffold around eight buildings in total, which include three high rise towers standing at nineteen stories, twenty four stories and thirty eight stories tall.   Due to the nature of the job, the scaffold had to be designed in a way which would allow us to bridge over the top of the low rise buildings to form a base for the high rise scaffold to be erected from there upwards to full height.     One of the main challenges on this project has been the fact that the two highest blocks are located directly next to and above the over ground train line running into Waterloo station. To minimize the risk of accidents, we erected Combi Safe protection nets alongside the scaffold on each floor in order to prevent materials falling to the ground. In line with our Health and Safety policies, all of the tools in use throughout this project have been tethered.   Each building included separate loading bays and hoist gantries which would enable the client and trades to load materials to each floor as and when required.   The main hoist gantry across thirty eight floors was constructed on the tallest block as part of the first phase of the project. Due to handover restraints, we designed and erected the scaffold in a way which has allowed the hoist to be lifted down two floors at a time. This has massively increased the dismantling time when it comes to taking the scaffold down.   Health and Safety and design have been at the heart of this great project.
